Met Mile

Really a good Card that day. Fours Stakes races on the Card and all Routes or a mile or more.

Have always like the Met Mile and only 4 lbs separates this field....which is a little surprising. Go back to the days of Forzando II and Garthorn were upsetters of some really good Older Horse fields. And some good 3YO like Dixie Brass and Honor and Glory tried the Olders with the 108-110 weight. With only 4 lbs separating this field I guess nobody is stretch.

Very nice stakes races. Albeit some shortish fields

The Baffert on the cutback will be very salty IMO despite the poor run in the oaks. Also has position on Kauai Kate

Interesting to see how the two horses in the met mile react off the huge figures.  I am surprised castellano stayed with discreet dancer over cross traffic.

The Ogden Phipps also a nice field.

73 and sunny Jimbo. Weather for Monday is all clear. Thumbs up to NYRA for beefing up this Card. Cant be too many complaints about tomorrows if any. Met Monday seemed to have a decent small Stake or two long ago then it slipped. They have resurrected with 4 quality races together. There is also enough other action spread around the country to satisfy anyones tastes. Good Luck everyone!!

Been waiting to bet against Kauai Kate for awhile. Definitely no development since two. Last not impressive at all. If she wins, I am out of the PK6 carryover.
Also not using Cross Traffic, how much can this horse possibly do in this short of time frame. He wins I know absolutely nothing about racing and need to find a new hobby.

He should immediately go into the horseracing Hall of Fame.

I had to go double-check, to see what you are talking about.

What ARE you talking about?

The horse won his debut at age 4 (there is a clue, right there),
then won his 1st level allowance race 45 days later. Neither of
these wins were much of surprise to the betting public, as Cross
Traffic went off at 70 cents on the dollar and a buck twenty, respectively.

After another almost 7 week break, Cross Traffic went off at a dollar
and five cents in the G3 Westchester, and just missed.

Now Cross Traffic is trying a Grade I race 30 days after the Westchester.

He\'s a pretty darn nice animal.)

Honestly...you seem a tad excitable. The spacing of this horse\'s races are
pretty near perfect, he\'s a lip or so away from being undefeated, and it
doesn\'t hurt that he is trained by one of the very best trainers the game
has ever seen.

What am I missing? Specifically, what is your beef?

I remember the good old days when a top 3 year old would enter the race & you could make good money betting on him.  My favorite was when Gulch won it as a 3YO.  Back then I was living in Oakdale, LI and for some reason I chose to put the bets in & watch it on TV. I used to go to Belmont a lot in those days but didn\'t go to the track that day. I went to the nearest Tele-theater to get track prices, I think it was in Hauppauge, where you had to have a sports coat on to get in, bet Gulch & the late DD, went home & later watched the race.  After he won I went to my nearest OTB & watched my DD come in. I think it paid somewhere close to $200. I\'m going to try to duplicate a day like that today with a short trip to Albany\'s Clubhouse Race Book.  
Another favorite memory was driving to Elmont around 9PM to get the next day\'s Form at the Talk of the Town Deli.  We\'d be waiting around for the car to get there from New Jersey. As soon as we saw the NJ plates on the car, we knew our Forms we there. It was about the only place near Belmont to get a Form early, even Angel Cordero would show up there to get his Form. No need to do stuff like that anymore when I can sit home & download a race card days in advance.

I like Discreet Dancer here. First time he\'s making 4 starts in a year, to me it shows he\'s healthy. Best pattern in the race and at his best distance. Has nice timing. I am surprised I haven\'t seen more talk about him. Cross Traffic should react with only 4 weeks rest after 3 big efforts. Flat may or may not react. His big figures have all come at Belmont. Sahara looks like he may be going backwards now and Swagger Jack had one good race. All others are too slow. GLTA!

Agree about Discreet Dancer, has done nothing wrong this year and I like the forging pattern with small improvements.  

Swagger Jack has an isolated big number that I don\'t think gets repeated. Flat Out reacts off big numbers.

Sahara Sky backed up a couple points after shipping, if he can get back to the last 2 then he will be very tough. The others don\'t look fast enough.

Sahara Sky and Discreet Dancer are the 2 that I like. Who knows, maybe I\'ll hit the all button for the 3rd spot.

Fort Loudon with seven weeks rest might fire off some nice Saratoga works.

No chance inside in the Carter and the two before that he was also stuck down on the rail.Maybe a more comfortable trip today stalking or pressing a path or two out.

Race 7- I thought this was pretty wide open. Going to put Wave Theory on top hoping she can run a fig similar to the KEE race.

Race 8- I did look at Centring for a long time and will be using on saver bets but I settled on Tiz Miz Sue. I think she is the class of the field and will like the cutback while saving ground.

Race 9- I\'m throwing out Katie in here and using Lucky and Close Hatches. I don\'t like the backwards moves for her and I think Lucky will be breathing down her throat the whole time. Look for Mott\'s filly to come and get them late.

Race 10- Notes have been presented in ROTW. Taking a stab here with Mark Valeski. 8 weeks away and should fire big here. Love that he has a win here and is cutting back to the one turn mile with tactical speed.

Disposablepleasure five weeks off the Sixty Sails might fire another one.She went the wrong way after the Mother Goose last year.First two this year were fine.

Something needs to soften Joyful Victory up.Maybe the other Jones filly can engage her at some point or the rail isn\'t the place to be today.
