Wow talk about coming in right on top of the races. This is also two sets of planes. I mean maybe they can just be vanned right into the respective starting gates once they arrive.....


Pletcher said his horses competing in the Friday, Nov. 1, Breeders\' Cup races will fly to California Oct. 28. His Saturday horses will depart Oct. 29

From the Breeders Cup website.

All runners are subject to the highest standards in medication testing and security while competing in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships which include the following:
Out-of-competition testing performed in advance on potential runners
All Championship Two-Year-Old races will be conducted medication free on race-days
Only approved CHRB licensed veterinarians will administer race-day medications in all other races.
24-Hour Security that will begin 72 hours from post time on each runner.
All Runners must be on the grounds of the racetrack 72 hours prior to their race-day.
All runners will be inspected physically and on track every day in the week prior to the Championships by a combined team of CHRB regulatory veterinarians and the Breeders’ Cup Veterinary team.
The first four finishers plus any other will be sent for post-race testing from every Championship race. Testing will be performed for over 100 performance enhancing substances.
All runners may request pre-race testing if they are concerned about withdrawal times for medications permitted during training but not racing.

Pletcher’s horses are scheduled to ship to California on Tuesday, though Hurricane Sandy could have something to say about that.

Per Fairmounts post it was Sandy effected last year whatever it ended up being. I do remember some guys rushed out a day early and some a day or two late.

It seems as though this shipping schedule is specifically being shaped for the 72 hour rule. I mean fly out at 6AM and be there by 10AM West Coast time and We made it by an hour.....so why?

Maybe this can be the year we finally eliminate speed, class, breeding, trip and jockey from the BC handicapping process.
