DRF, Bloodhorse, NYRA just squeezing players a bit more at a time when so many are disgusted with the game. Brilliant business strategy!!

Miff, I mistakenly believed you supported the DRF subscription service for Welsch\'s workout reports.  I thought that was the same type of nickle and dime scheme.  Nonetheless, these tactics are....

Just like the Illinois legislature.

Facing a doomsday scenario they pass a bill to \"save racing in Illinois.\"  But in the fine print, of course, there is now a surcharge on winning wagers to make up a $725k shortfall from 2013.  And take a wild guess where the shortfall came from---lucky you if you guessed the legislature that failed to act the year before....

So in Illinois, if you want to bet on track, it costs you to walk in the door.  It of course costs you to push your money through window via takeout.  And then if you happen to win, well Illinois deserves some of that as well under the new law to make up for when you couldn\'t bet online in 2013 because of their failure to act.  

I won\'t even begin to explain how tax credits for CDI (Arlington) or on track versus off track betting influences the Illinois big picture too.  But one thing is certain, it is more than just nickle and diming players.

Best thing to happen on this board recently was the handicapping by shanahan and richiebee on Donn weekend to spark discussions about pick four\'s, patterns, horses, etc.  Let\'s see it again this weekend guys with the FOY on tap.

Without seeing the PP\'s or figs just yet, I know I am very interested in Saa Mii in race 8 to start the pick 5.  Thought he ran monster race last time after a troubled trip in September at CD.  Now he goes turf for a trainer that I\'ve been following closely.

A great way to promote interest in a dying sport, charge people to read basic news.

I would love to read about Will Take Charge coming to Santa Anita for the Big Cap, squaring off against Mucho Macho Man among others.  I\'m not going to spend $20/month to do so.

I can read the same stuff On Bloodhorse or Paulick Report, but DRF thinks that if its on their site that deserves some kind of premium. Right.

Feedback from Kentucky on Monday revealed that if you wanted Santa Anita dops as well as the early Eastern tracks, you had to buy TWO DRFs.

This wasn\'t the case, in the East.
