Incident of his was in steward\'s report 2 weeks ago. Employee of barn was caught with tube of paste in the stall of horse scheduled to race within next 2 hours. No cap on the paste just holding the tube but claimed he was just pulled in to help another employee out. Was going to post link to stewards minutes on here. Went back to look at link and the incident is no longer on the stewards\' minutes. Go figure, truly might still be Wild Wild West. No faith at this moment in truly and fairly run thoroughbred races.

R4 at CD today, the #2 Calmbeforethestorm has \"KRI\" listed twice as starts that don\'t show up in PP\'s. Anyone know what KRI stands for and what the situation here is?

I feel the same way about Brody, look at his pattern as a 2yo. He moved forward in second start significantly and jumped forward again in third start. Just so happens he will be third off layoff going into the Derby and past history tells us that third off layoff has been a successful move with Derby winner, i.e. Mine That Bird, Animal Kingdom, Super Saver, American Pharoah, Big Brown, Street Sense and I\'ll Have Another to some extent. We\'re talking 7 of the last 9 winners have been third off the layoff, Brody\'s pattern says third off should be his best.

Watched the work as well, jock whips him a few times right before the 1/4 pole like he might be lugging out. Tough to say for sure but just looks like a grinder to me. Tough to toss tough to key.

Ok, can someone please help me understand the huge difference in figs. In no way is this knocking the numbers, I just want to better understand how it was made.
I\'m using Eagle and Gun Runner from 3/26
Eagle 3w3w, carries 119lbs, final time 150.50
Gun Runner 1w2w, carries 122lbs, final time 151.06
Eagle got the wider trip yet Gun Runner carried more weight, time difference was about .50 seconds off (roughly).
We end up with final figs of...
Eagle -0[2]
Gun Runner 5
Once again just hoping someone can educate me, thanks to all who participate in these board discussions.

I think TGJB brought this up on earlier discussions about pace not determining final fig. I do agree with you that it was the better race by far after pressing very strong fractions.

Yes, by all accounts the only colt with a negative number. Brings up an earlier point that now Trojan Nation had a superior move forward? Lots of confusion about this crop.

Hard for me to take Destin seriously, we\'ve seen this before from the barn. See Dream of Julia and Materiality to name a few, that is big figs in FLA that don\'t seem to happen again anywhere else. Let\'s not forget this was the same horse who started in NOLA and was beaten by Mo Tom and Tom\'s Ready. How in the world was Destin able to achieve this fig off just 4 weeks and staying at the same exact distance as his last race. Typically when you see an increase or decrease in distance that can explain a jump up but almost 8 full points, COME ON MAN!!

Does it have to be the vet? Shockwave is performed by Physical Therapists all the time, this barn happens to currently travel with an equine Physical Therapist so how would we really know?

Thanks, was reading an article that stated shockwave therapy was performed on I\'ll Have Another 10 days before the Derby. Initial thinking is that if the procedure is performed at all the wagering public should be informed.

Anyone out there know what they are? Curious as Nyquist\'s trainer has been linked to this before and Nyquist himself was subjected to this treatment back in September of his 2yo year. How would we know if it was peformed?

I\'ll Have Another received same treatment leading up to KY Derby. Miff is right, does promote healing and as stated before barn is familiar with how to bring one who is getting the treatment up to a race. Obvious issue but wouldn\'t make that big of a deal about it, handicap as if Nyquist will run his race and go from there.
