I can only hope that my bottom line for the meet will not multiply in proportion to the red ink at the 1/4 mark.

It\'s been said many times over and over how tough this meet is, everyone wants to win here and no matter what you think you have? The other guy thinks he has something too and his may be bigger and better. A handful of tough beats that hopefully will even out over 40 days and to quote mjellish \"I\'m over it\" The Spa can test your resolve, patience, tolerance for alcohol and bankroll for sure.

We\'ve received north of 3 inches of rain since Saturday night and that should slow down the green speedway\'s known as the inner and Mellon turf courses. A pretty good stretch of weather for the upcoming 6 day work week with a chance of showers or T-storm Friday night into Saturday morning but too far out for anything reliable.

My string of perfect attendance was broken by the weather, I\'m not a fan of off tracks and especially of off the turf races. Back to the salt mine tomorrow.

I\'ve got Uncle Bill calling me on Tuesday(my only work day) saying he\'s with Richie Migliore and they are in search of Perreca\'s Bakery in Schenectady telling me I ruined him and he can never have any other bread. It\'s great stuff for sure and when Jack Nicholson was here filming the William Kennedy novel Ironweed in 1982 he fell so in love with their products that to this day he has it flown out to Cali twice weekly.

Klueless Kay and company continue their 3 card monty game of attendance by not posting the numbers even on Saturday which was far and away the busiest day of the meet to date, over 35K in live bodies for sure with a 23 million dollar plus handle.

Never a good sign when your best bet of the opening 10 days is a trifecta in a race that didn\'t take trifecta wagering......

Saratoga is a route, not a sprint.

And photo finishes are supposed to even out over the long run.  In which case, I am expecting to win a ton of photos soon....

Are we now saying that Johnny V. is wider than \"wide Mikey\"?  Tough call....

I\'m down too so far on the meet.  Skipped Sunday and Monday to reboot.  Very glad i didnt plung into that pick 6 either as none of my backups included Laoban winning the Jim Dandy and the rest of sequence was chalky.  I did plunge a bit in the Pick 4 and Laoban beat me out of it, just for full disclosure.  I\'m also not a big fan of sloppy off turf days so thankful for the rain which allowed me to not feel like a wuss.  But i look at being down as just temporary investing. Helps with the psyche.  I highly suggest that mindset, like buying more stock you already own when it drops or fundamentally sound company.

Close followers of this meet typically realize greater clarity of thought as the meet progresses.

Thing is, you still have to do the work every day, while waiting for the baskets of goodies likely to materialize during the final couple of weeks.
