Speaking of eclectic, I say this mare\'s pps should garner an honorable mention -- most interesting non-first lasix, first lasix, I have ever seen. Apparently, she got lasix in Argentina for her first two starts, but then won a G1 as a 3yo filly against older with lasix off (beating 17 other distaffers and getting 10 panels in under 2:00 minutes).
Then after 18 months off, returns in the Prix de Maurice Zilber. Having personally been a devotee of the John D Shapiro\'s DC International during the 1970s, I can testify that Monsieur Zilber was a frequent participant (rumor has it the DC International is coming back). M. Zilber was the trainer of Exceller who was beaten in the 1977 DC International by Johnny D (no connection to John D nor Beverly D -- the subject race).
Pretty Girl (ARG) now returns to Lasix and is coming into the Beverly D on a sparse 16 days (plus the 7 hours gained on the flight) after prevailing by a nostril over none other than Bohemian Rhapsody in a four female foto finish at Vichy!!
Here is my question -- is she first lasix or not? Is there such a thing an angle as first time U.S. Lasix? I must say although I have considered many things in my handicapping, I have never faced a medication question quite like this one.
