Fair Grounds Race #7

Anybody who bet the #3 in this race was just robbed, as the jock stood up in the irons about 50 yards before the wire. He would have easily won the race if ridden out. I didn\'t bet him, but that is inexcusable.

Willie Shoemaker did the same thing in what was probably (yes, this is tongue in cheek now) a much more expensive race!

Will he get fined or suspended? It was a bonehead mistake, and he probably feels bad. It\'s been done before and will happen again. I still think that it deserves a fine and suspension to remind all jockeys that the rules are to be taken seriously, but he\'ll probably receive a wink and a grin.
