The MILKSHAKE Aussies can take credit for inventing it in the 60’s. I believe it was first used in harness horses.

Appeared to me from the text messages in the article they may have noticed a pattern in the testing - if you hadn\'t been tested by 40 MTP, you weren\'t going to be tested. OTOH, maybe they just wanted it close-ish to race time for maximum effect, I\'m just guessing.

Frank,

An old harness driver at Pocono Downs used to laugh when the thoroughbred gang were finally getting around to banning \'milkshakes\'.

Told me he used them back in his 1960\'s-1970\'s heyday.

Of course, the feature race had a purse of $500 in those days.

Whole lot of wheelin and dealin.

Like the The Night they Burned old Pocono Down (with apologies to The Band.)

Hey Frank D,  wish I knew about that when I was trying to get Why Bill past Rambling Willie on a typical summer Saturday night a Sportsmans Park in the 70\'s!!!  But the bull ring spring meet was the best!!!

As far as I know, they do not conduct blood gas testing at the races in Australia. They do have severe penalties if you are caught doing it or with the equipment but they do not have a black box.

They were rocked by the cobalt scandal and now this. They do an awesome job keeping bettors informed but like most blowhard countries that criticize our racing, they are no cleaner than anyone else. For example, the Brits don\'t even drug test every race.

Here\'s a couple of others where fans took to the track to express their anger.
First one at Roosevelt Park. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUqHVP02yM0

This one is from Yonker.  Must be a New York thing.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9WWjtIEyNo
