IMHO - West Coast is a bet against @ Meydan.

Popular Opinion is that there is a distinct inside speed bias. From post 10 Nope

Sire is Flatter - Not enough stamina/endurance

Artificial Surface - Turf like not like SA hard pan.

Morning Line 4/5 - Based more on BBT celebrity than horses accomplishments on surface, distance, local.

Jockey - nothing wrong with can do no wrong St. Javier, who put Smith on the mare?

How else to get 4/5 - I think I can get better on MUBTAAHIJ or Gunnavera even Talismatic to show and if West Coast runs out well well.

Nearly Last - is not Gun Runner, California Chrome or Arrogate....yet

But - Bob Baffert has trained him to run all competition off their feet at 1+1/8 mi. I know he won the Travers @ a 1+1/4 by 3.5 lengths that was then and dirt if he duplicates he beats me.

I wonder what the tri will be if he wins?

You had me at 4/5. Isn’t Meydan dirt?

Santa Anita horses tend to run well there. Thought it was dirt as well.

It all depends on how West Coast reacts to his Pegasus effort. That was a huge number chasing a beast. If he runs anything close to that, the rest are running for second.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

They switched from synth to dirt 2 or 3 years ago.

N.A. misses the break and Soumillon took advantage, putting Castellano in his back pocket.
