Have to think the way the track was playing, a bit on the slow side, the fact Kela went 108.2, and 8 wide the whole way, that he will get one of, if not the highest sprint number of the year.

Won\'t be doing the day for a couple of days, and the track may have changed during the card, but maiden claimers went 1:09 flat in the last. Very tough beat for the guys who bet their lungs on the layoff horse who ran second-- ouch.

Here I am.  

I\'m with TGJB on this one, but maybe not to the same degree. I won\'t vouch for anything though. I\'m going bad for the first time in many years. I\'m in the hole 8 units for the year, but it feels a lot worse because I\'ve been going so well for so many years.
I can\'t get myself arrested.

well I would point out it was straight maidens, and the top two may have freaked a little as the were 9 clear of third.  I looked at the first and older 40k claimers went 111 1/5, and they went a mile a couple hours later in 138.  The ground loss was the unreal part, I dont think I have seen that much ground loss at del mar in a stake and the horse win.  If ground loss is figured in it would inflate the figure considerably, right?

Cal bred maidens. It would mean he earned a better figure than if he lost less ground and ran the same time, yes.
