The old diner is Chez Sophie on Rt. 9.  Also, a new restaurant opened over the winter called Tiznow; quite good bistro fare

Despite being dismissive, close minded, and a general pain-in-the-butt, Andy (Sperling, not Beyer) is a pretty good guy, and extremely entertaining-- and some of his best stuff can\'t be used here or on TV. He\'s great on TV-- but what he really should be doing is hosting a talk radio racing show, with call-ins. God only knows how nasty and funny he would be... next to \"curmudgeon\" in the dictionary, you\'ll find Andy\'s picture.

I know him for many, many years. One of the worst opinions around.
