Is Justify lame??

Surprised nobody is talking about this on here.  The horse is clearly in pain. I don’t think we all have to trust Bafferts explanation.

As most everyone probably knows at this point, Justify has a skin condition known
as \"scratches\"

https://www.doctorramey.com/scratches-etc/

https://www.merckvetmanual.com/musculoskeletal-system/lameness-in-horses/scratches-in-horses

Will he miss training? Will some of the Derby participants who originally opted
out of the Preakness be emboldened by this seemingly minor injury?

Ah, the drama.

Richie, are you going solely based on what Baffert said or do you have personal knowledge of the horses condition?

Can you Trust Bob Baffert?

Bore In & Out in Santa Anita Derby.

Baffert states while holding the horse \"He came out of the Derby really well\". (Swore, earlier, heard in \"great shape\").  Is this how he walked before the race with \"scratches\", a skin condition? Other reports are saying he\'s \"Scratched\" due to lack of better wording to have \"run down\" on the wet track. Baffert is reported to have said that half the field will have problems of some sort after that race, which tends to rule out a previous skin condition. Interesting defensive statement don\'t you think?...\"Other\'s have problems too\".

He\'s certainly favoring it. Don\'t think this is a skin condition. When a horse  carries it weight incorrectly, even for short times, it increases the risk of illness to the 3 hooves bearing the weight of 4.

Its really an issue of aggregating circumstances. \"Late\" to the races. Bearing Off in the Santa Anita Derby, Strict Race Schedule now and while the horse is clearly favoring, Baffert stating, \"He came out of the race really well.\"...really? Consider Bafferts demeanor. How jovial is he?

Because winning the derby 5 times makes him......honest!
LOL...some of you crack me up.
I’m not saying he’s lying...but he also has every reason not to tell the whole truth.  Have you seen the PETA press release yet.

maybe...but that\'s not even Bafferts tweet. Is that  someone that hates Peta, because some do?

who\'s vet? for that matter, why did Baffert feel the need to have Justify checked out? He knows right?

the horse was clearly off, does a tweet carry enough weight to dismiss what we\'ve seen? Including the hitch in the giddy up after the SA Derby?

how persuasive is a tweet? is anyone else kinda fed up with unilateral tweets that leave no opportunity for questioning?

lets say you wanted to attempt to influence with a tweet like someone  else has been attempting, perhaps in both cases its to project something that isn\'t exactly as tweeted with the hopes of limiting one\'s \"exposure\".

Just how bad are you looking forward to riding a 1-5 to 1-9 horse? Most here will urge you on, but its your choice.

you\'ve suckered some on that. One would expect you\'d at least come up with a relevant source.

I think you can trust his and the owners\' lust for money, at least. The horse is worth a great deal of money whether he starts in the Preakness or not. If the horse breaks his leg in the Preakness, he is worth.... significantly less!

APNY:

The closest I have ever been to this horse is the 700 or so miles between New York
City and Louisville. His condition, a skin condition which goes by many names (see
attachments in original post), has been reported on extensively in BloodHorse,
Paulick Report and DRF. I do not know if Justify will miss any training. I do not
know of any other lameness problems he may have.
