The turf courses almost got back to firm yesterday, still some give in the ground with clumps being kicked up.

Best case for Whitney Day will be a good track and soft turf.

There is no doubt in my mind that Klueless Kay & company have pissed off the weather GODS...... We have been on a 10 year run of super weather at the Spa, a handful of rain days and not losing too many turf heats.

The squeeze the 🍋 dry crew had to raise admission prices again, create the $40 bar stoll in the top of the stretch complete with your own iPad where you can bet from and order $11 hot dogs & a $16 hamburger. $5 wasn’t enough for a water or soda so it went to $6 this year...

All this with a blended 20% take out to enhance the guest experience.

I have no problem paying for the amenities of the new stretch area.  I find it spacious, modern and comfortable.  It\'s also a great place to escape the big crowds on big days.  Saratoga is still one of the few sports venues where you can bring your own alcohol as well as your own lawn chair and park it anywhere in the backyard.  Those of us who don\'t like doing that appreciate having a place we can reserve in advance and have more amenities than ever before including tv\'s at each seat for watching simulcasting.

Way back in the day the spa was more of a retreat, a country fair type place, sweet, almost pure, immune from the downstate grind, greed and need to promote. It could afford to be. It carried its own. No more. NYRA has put its last daughter up for sale. Highest bidder. NSA.

I’m far from anti amenities and comfort. God knows I would have appreciated air conditioning in the club house table jacket wearing days. Change is inevitable and upgrades were in order.

Upgrades and changes could have been accomplished without making the Grand Old Spa Lady spread her legs like a commmon street walker.........
