With the retirement decision came a close up of Smarty Jones\' pin firing scars. Did anyone notice them before? I know many people say it\'s no biggy, but he must have had an injury along the line. Everyone has said that the \"experts\" would have pointed out the pin fire scars (I saw the marks leading up to the Belmont and thought that this was the \"kink in the armor\" everyone was looking for. IMO that\'s why he had no \"speed\" works in all 3 and the Belmont distance would override the adrenaline rush forcing him to feel the pain thereby slowing him up? Possible?
