Sadler's Joy/Sword Dancer

Sadler\'s Joy, now 6, ran at the Spa each of the last four years. Trying to be coy
here and not revealing proprietary information, SJ ran a TG number at the Spa as a
4YO and as a 5YO which would put him in the thick of this.

Sadler\'s Joy has won six of 23 lifetime starts, which is noteworthy in that his
trainer perennially maintains a strike rate around 10%.

A multiple winner at the Spa and the field\'s top earner (he has banked over $1.5M
at this distance), his running style makes him admittedly pace and trip dependent.
Lezcano replaces Castellano, who had SJ in a tight spot in his 6YO debut.

SJ will be on my multiple race tickets, and might get some vertical and or
straight play if closer to 9/1 than the 9/2 ML.

It\'s nice to see you alert at just a bit after dawn. Thanks for sharing the information. The attraction of big race days is undeniable. Barring some bonehead act by Lezcano \"The Peacock....\" Only nine(9) entered not too many sadly two from Pletcher and another two from Brown may crowd everyone else out of the Tri. Yet I like Sadler\'s Joy off his accomplishments and what he is capable of on his best.

Now considering his connections point to both the SPA meet and this race, along with a price likely to be north of 5/1 makes this race playable for me. Now I can bet the race early when I still have chips as opposed to handicapping it after race #9 when I might not have any.

I\'m remembering I bet Ya Primo in his last because between his record and being adopted by Chad he had to be a good thing even if an illegal. Well his jockey (Ortiz) just mounted his challenge too late and was unable to get to the wire first while being best to my eye. He makes sense @ m/l same as what he went off last time while appearing best?

Did we see the same race? He saved every inch of ground. Got through on the inside at the right time. Looked like he picked his nose in front, if only for a brief moment, and simply wasnt good enough.

Now is he better 2nd US Start? Is he better if outside in the lane and running perhaps more freely? That we dont know and today could tell. I was getting phone calls on this one the morning of that race. Well meant. Highly hyped. Well bet. Couldnt deliver. Sounds a little bit like Wow Cat.

There were 6 horses within a length and quarter at wire in that prep. Channel Maker is also like 5 for 26 and had every chance but didnt finish. This one is about trip and luck. A spread in verticals is required. 3 horse exacta may be best wager. If you know the exact winner then your Karnac

My Bad, I apologize. I was remembering a different race. Clear as day in my mind but not the Bowling Green. The horse I am thinking of made an inside out move leaving the turn and was finishing on the outside.

I mean he may improve and win. But he needs to. The e he ran in his last is average in there. Channel Maker is a hard horse to trust. Channel Cat feels like I missed Wedding and now it\'s the Funeral if I plunge back in BUT....he is consistent and if he improves (not unreasonable at 4) then he will be tough. But they wont let him wire again. Sooooo

Richie - SJ opens @ 2/1? Like the old Brokerage TV commercial Was it? When Smith Barney talks..... people listen! SJ\'s price is headed north, now up to 7/2 with six minutes to post? 9/1 looks kind of optimistic. Trying to view the unexpected support as a positive thing.

The first ticket for a buck is paying 9,15 or 28k with the 7/1 Chad.
Indian was off 10/1 and not trained by Chad.....

3/6 ex is basically the same either way.

Some excellent handicapping on the board for today.

Unfortunately, Frank was beat by the other \"other\" Chad.  

Richiebee was beaten by THE Chad of the two in his race.

I had some outstanding opinions today among my closest friends but likely would not have cashed for the same exact reason:  Chad.  

This is ridiculous with these turf races.  This isn\'t pattern, trip, or other \"handicapping\" methods.  This is throw 3 horses in and watch them run 1-2-3 in a graded stakes or here is a rabbit for the real horse they are running.  Legal or not, this guy has an unfair advantage.  It is beyond obvious.  Why other trainers aren\'t raising holy #*(#+ is beyond me.  No other trainers know how to train horses as well as him??  Ok, not buying that one.

Curious if he skips out on Kentucky Downs this year again where they don\'t have stalls on the grounds.....  

As a gambler, I know my handle on big cards has waned in large part b/c of Chad in particular when he has this many entries.  Zero bet today.  Zero.  That speaks volumes if you know me at all.
