NYRA, TVG, and Tim Smith

I\'m curious what\'s going on with NYRA.  Did Tim Smith pull out because he didn\'t like the TVG deal (or that NYRA signed it without him)?  What exclusivity rights did TVG get for its multi-million dollar payment?  Is the TVG deal some kind of anti-Magna takeover defense?  If anyone sees some well-done journalism on this topic, I\'d be grateful if you would post the link.  Thanks.
