Back to the races
« on: March 20, 2020, 07:05:57 PM »
With the Derby being pushed back does the trainers attitude about peaking for the derby change?
Saying instead of not peaking to early could there be a intention to run the horse harder than normal for this part of the derby season?

I think at this point if you have a good horse in top shape you lay it all on the line since there is no guarantee that there will be a Derby in September.

The future is now.

The future was yesterday. Racing is minute to minute now. They might get one more day in. Maybe not. I will be very surprised if any racing is still going on anywhere after Saturday.

What did that have to do with the question asked?
Don’t be no cloud on a sunny day.

Agreed.

We\'ve already acknowledged it may not last much longer.  Lets enjoy Saturday.

You will never win an Eclipse award for meteorology.

1) Tens of thousands of people will die from COVID-19. Not all of them will be
elderly, as you seem to think.

2) Saw a forecast that in the aftermath of COVID-19 the unemployment rate
when this all shakes could be 15-20%. Recession? Depression? End of the
World (as we know it)?

With all due respect, excuse me for not grabbing my shades and suntan lotion.

Enjoy what might be the last good day of Racing for a while, though I hope this
is not the case. Optimism should always be expressed with a scintilla of
realism in the mix.

Mr.Bee
We have this discussed this enough.
It is out of our hands.
Good luck to us all and may we all come out on the other side.
