Summer in the Backyard
« on: June 08, 2021, 07:01:51 PM »
Will any T-Generates make the trip to the Spa this summer?

Will Uncle Bill be holding court in the Backyard?  (Bill, Plenty of dandy well dappled fillies present at Elmont. Suggest packing a few White Claw Seltzers as that seems to the the Beverage of Choice among the millennial ladies these days.
Sorry Frank, Heinekens need not apply. LOL

Or will the NYRA Greed Manifesto go full force and start charging per/table as they did at Belmont. $240 per/ picnic table.

Is the St. Looie crew permanently retired and gone off to Stud Duty??

Will there be on site seminars or will we be You Tubing for the time being?

Lastly, the ticketing policy will drive the average Saratoga patron crazy.

I bought and paid for a season pass a while back. They want me to download the ticket (no problem) and store it in my \"digital wallet\" (like most seniors know what they are talking about) .

So, I receive e-mail notification to download my season pass.
I follow instructions.
My invoice shows paid and zero balance. Fine

Go to download and all I can do is upgrade to Special Events that are already full. (I clicked them on just to see the prices they were charging)

No place, nowhere, no how, no way to download my Pass.  UGH!!
Thanks for the e-mail notification and the link to nowhere

Bill will be there, I’ll be there one of the first two weekends, no seminars.

Well, I\'m coming up for the Whitney weekend.  Embassy Suites Wednesday - tuesday.  Also heading to Pacific Class a few weeks later.
Question for you bob - if Saratoga is indeed a state park, how do they get away charging anything, much less $240/table?

Bob

I will be coming most Saturdays - weather permitting.

Most likely no overnight stays.

Hope to see you and the others soon.

To clarify,

They were charging $40 per/person for a picnic bench at BELMONT this past Saturday.  Minimum of 6 thus $240 per/table.

I was in grandstand around the 1/8th poll.  Sparse crowd but quite YOUNG for a change.

Frank D would have enjoyed the crowd.

Not sure about Saratoga being part of a State Park. Thought the State of NY owned it??

I’ll be at the Wynn Las Vegas war room or The Royal Bangkok Sports Club in Thailand.

Correct, the track is not part of Saratoga State Park.

Bet - assumed since you can take in coolers it was a state park.  With everything else taxed to death in the tri-state, that\'s quite a perk from those $8 beers.  No wonder there\'s never a line...

Yes, agreed on it being quite a perk.  The ability to “picnic” on the lawn is one of the things that have always made it popular for us locals.  I’ve been going since I was 6.  That place has brought more new blood into the sport that anywhere else.

Can\'t wait to get up there.  Girlfriend has never been.  She\'s in for a treat, such a great atmosphere.  Love SAR after the races are done as well...
