Interesting wide-ranging interview. A lot of Baffert in the discussion -- from horse deaths; Justify not being disqualified; and opinions about Baffert\'s \"quarter horse\" style of training.

So, Sha\'Carri Richardson won\'t be allowed to compete in the Tokyo Olympics due to a 30-day suspension for a positive for marijuana (that is legal in Oregon where the race/test took place). She had no excuses -- just an explanation that she was depressed due to her mother\'s death and took a puff. She accepts the punishment. A positive -- even a very outdated positive -- is a positive. Her honesty is noteworthy.

Baffert can take a few lessons from this young lady.

Baffert would say she is an absolute fool.  In his eyes, she should have blamed the family/friends at her mom\'s funeral gathering for baking some laced brownies.

The sport would be so much better if he just went away. You would think that after the media and SNL and just about everyone ridiculed him for being the tool that he is -- he would fade away. Narcissists don\'t fade away. They need to be taken away in handcuffs.

For those who need a proper definition of tool --

Tool: (noun)

1.) A guy with a hugely over-inflated ego, who in an attempt to get un-due attention for himself, will act like a jackass, because, in his deluded state, he will think it\'s going to make him look cool, or make others want to be like him. The person may even insincerely apologize later on, but only in an attempt to get more attention, or to excuse his blatantly intentional, and unrepentantly tool-ish behavior.

There’s a solution. Boycott races with Baffert entries. Don’t bet on them. Make your voice heard at the windows.

Integrity vs NYRA
« Reply #7 on: July 09, 2021, 06:11:09 AM »
As I understand it the NYRA 86\'d race entries from trainer Bob Baffert. That was prior to the Belmont stakes. Maybe, things have changed but I think he is still uninvited to participate in horse races held in the Empire state.

In a decision made by executives/administrators and supported by the NY  Jockey Club, the NYRA organization simply refused service to shoe-less Bob. Using the notion those with the power get to make the rules.

Along comes Natalie and her gal pal Debbie with their pet Turf racehorse Du Jour. A horse trained by shoeless Bob. A husband?, an ex-husband?, a brother?, Bodie\'s mom?, and a very suspicious turf trainer!. Du Jour is entered in the Belmont Derby Saturday? (a race Elsa may ruin)

True to the spirit of NYRA\'s BB ban, they are mum,

For me, as someone who sees\'s only what\'s on the surface of this story, I\'m gonna go watch another episode of The Mysteries of Skin Walker Ranch. This makes more sense to me than NYRA vs Baffert while (IMHO) making no sense at all.

Bottom line, I like the Japanese Horse, CB doing his best to stay off the radar not as formidable as pre-pandemic.

Question smart guy -- why don\'t YOU start \"a real handicapping discussion\" if YOU are able to? I am waiting... .

I didn\'t post on here for a year after last June someone (will go unnamed) trashed the Owners (E-Five, Claiborne are friends) trying to get their horses back on the Track after a COVD shut down. Claiming the Owners were meaningless to the game.

Now we have CLOWNS in every post talking about Baffert and his Positives. Pete Rose. Fox News and Trump. And a friend of mine on here who happens to be a front line worker risking his life every day was attacked as a Fox News Zealot for implying Baffert needs due process.

I posted Gufo in the Manhattan on Belmont Day. I\'ve made 2 bet since. Waiting for the Spa and Ckosed two large deals at work the last week of June. Bahamas last weekend playing golf. Another friend owner has a piece of Happy Saver. They liked him. I passed the race. Nice hit by the ROTW. All the good handicappers on the Board have left. Mall. Derby1592. Miff. Frank D. Covello. Many long ago. It\'s no longer a Handicapping Board. Someone even implied last June of there are no fans why bother with ANY live racing. On a horse racing Handicapping Board. Now think about that. It\'s a Shit Show

Me too.
I guess we are all \"idiots\" who have conversations about the most important negative event in Kentucky Derby history -- a probable disqualification due to a banned substance positive (twice tested) -- that follows a disqualification the year before in the Kentucky Oaks race (again twice tested). By the same trainer -- Bob Baffert. Pretty newsworthy most believe. I guess not all... .

Let me point out that in my opinion, the Board is about horse racing in general. Not just handicapping. If I am wrong, Jerry can correct me. I am a fan. I am a long time owner. I am a gambler. I enjoy all aspects of my participation in the sport and enjoy discussions about them all.
