Slow Favorite in Futurity?
« on: September 19, 2004, 09:08:34 AM »
I know 2 year olds can step up with wild improvement in any race, but if you look at the T-Graph figures, Fusaichi Rock Star is a pretty slow favorite today in the Futurity.  Baffert has been talking the horse up, plus Baffert won 2 stakes races at Belmont yesterday, my guess is the horse goes off pretty short, probably less than 2-1.

Looks like the three fastest horses are on the inside with the \"lesser\" riders, Bridmohan, Pimental and Castellano.  While Desmormeaux, Prado and Velasquez ride the slowest horses with the \"big name\" trainers, Baffert, Pletcher and Biancone.  Kind of makes the race a little interesting.  Of course, two of the three inside horse are coming out a race at Monmouth, which makes me trust their better figures a little bit less.  But at least the race in \"bettable\", along with the Atto Mile.  Because it doesn\'t look to me like the other two races in the NTRA Pick 4 are going to be competitive at all.  Sightseek and Sense of Style look pretty imposing?

Any thoughts?

I love the Violette horse myself.  Fastest on the T-Graph figures, Violette has an ROI of over $4.00 on 2nd time starters and he won his debut professionally.

Don\'t think we will get a \"great\" price though.  My guess would be 5-2 or 3-1.
