Pegasus World Cup

Looking at the Racing Form, the top two are approximately 10BSF points faster than the rest of the field.

Mike Welsch (DRF) introducing the field: \"Nine post positions were drawn Tuesday afternoon at GP for the Pegasus World Cup ... But the only two anyone cared about was KNICKS GO and LIFE IS GOOD.\"

I\'ll take a closer look at some point, but as of now, the \"Big\" race doesn\'t look like much of a betting race.

Maybe GP should have considered a Pegasus World Cup \"Match Race\" between KNICKS GO and LIFE IS GOOD.

If it was a match race I would go:

KNICKS GO 3/5
LIFE IS GOOD 8/5

Add an additional seven horses into the mix and the odds become:

KNICKS GO 1/1
LIFE IS GOOD 2/1

That\'s my take looking at the Racing Form. I\'m not sure how much my opinion would change looking at the race from a Thoro-Graph perspective.

Actually, a $3-$5 million dollar winner-take-all between KNICKS GO, LIFE IS GOOD and FLIGHTLINE would have been cool. But, nooooooooo! The connections of FLIGHTLINE are chicken. Chicken ... bok bok, bok bok.

In days of very old this race would have been more interesting...if run as a handicap:

Knicks      130
Life        127
Sir Winston 118
All Others:  Between 112-114

If Flightline had entered,125

And yes this would have made the race more interesting.

JB he\'s won four races this year, all run under conditions where he gave weight to
some if not all competitors. Here he is equal weighted with Stilleto Boy, who is
NW3 lifetime.....

It certainly would make for a more interesting betting event. But is it really fair to not have a level playing field for GIs and/or big money?

We don’t do it on other sports. In fact, the better you do the better you’re seeded…

JB really the problem is that some of the runners in North America who might be
able to compete at equal weights are nowhere to be found.

To twist your words a bit, when you have a HOY running against a NW3LT, weight
might be the only way to level the playing field.

To go back 40 years and more (sorry) the two greatest horses I have seen--Forego
and Spectacular Bid--distinguished themselves by not allowing top weights to keep
them from their appointed rounds.
