June 10th 2017 is the day horse racing died in my mind.  Sure I have played since like the addict I am but that was the day I knew that the sport could not and would not police it\'s self.

Wow, what was on display that day?  Quality horse racing or drugs?  Call me naive but I\'m hoping that HISA forces racing to clean up it\'s act.  Sadly I feel like the Jamie Ness, the Engleharts, the Diodoros, the Jacobsons, the Bafferts are again going to rule the day.

Singling out horse racing seems a weak barometer of the demise of our country\'s ethics & civilization. The list of wrongdoing in other activities is too long even to get started on.

In fact, as deplorable as cheating at the track is it pales in comparison to other headlines. Theft, gun violence, ethnic prejudice, war crimes, abuse of corporate power, and government corruption. I don\'t even have a clue about the crimes being perpetrated in the food and climate realms.

Hopefully, they will be racing at Belmont tomorrow but I would prefer a delay of whatever is necessary to protect the horse\'s health.

Whenever I hear people bemoan the good old days when the masses were civilized and had purity of spirit, I wonder what country they\'re talking about.

There have always been cheats, we\'re just better at catching them now.

There never were the glory days when there were no corked bats, spit balls, point shavers, dopers - to say nothing of corrupt politicians, journalists, bankers, whomever.

Twas always thus, and it\'s only the ignorance that comes with our being young that fooled us into thinking it wasn\'t there.

Yep! I agree with you and well said. I\'d like to strike the word demise in my previous post. It smacks of comparison and since I was clueless then and now it\'s mute.

He\'s simply talking about horse racing....on a horse racing forum..... he never said or implied those other items you mentioned.

You took this way out to left field with the social commentary.

Yes, cheating has gone on in everything forever.

He\'s saying horse racing is at its zenith with regards to cheating.
