NHC 2023
« on: July 07, 2023, 09:03:12 PM »
I have been a NTRA member since it’s inception, and participate with their contests, paid and free ones, so I find this NHC2023 cheating scandal unbelievable! The NTRA says they use an auditing firm to spot collusion among players, but an individual brought to the NTRA’s attention that there was collusion at the tournament, and three players that banked over 90k, were colluding, and it seems likely they were also in 2022 when one of them took second place, where all there selections were identical both years.
Lost all faith in the NTRA and seriously considering my support for the entity.
Anyone else here play in the NHC tournaments and feeders?

Maybe you can explain exactly how this \'colluding\' is a big deal .

It would be easier to find Jimmy  Hoffa\'s body than an explanation about this . Trust me , I looked (not for Jimmy)

Definition of collusion, secret or illegal cooperation or conspiracy, especially in order to cheat or deceive others. It is explicitly against the rules, what is there to understand? It does not matter if there picks are the same or different. If they made an agreement to play a certain way, that is collusion.

Did they move Hoffa from the end zone at the Meadowlands?

First football game ever at Meadowlands, the Columbia marching band spelled out Hoffa, with an arrow to midfield.

I\'m not a contest player, but I\'m curious about this too.  I wondered how \"collusion\" is defined in this context.  I found this from the 2023 BCBC rules:

\"Collusion of entries between horse players is prohibited, as is any attempt to manipulate the results of the Tournament. All players must make his or her own final selection independently of every other player in the contest. Participants in the contest are prohibited from coordinating their play with other players, such as (1) sharing the risk of losing amongst different entries of different players and (2) playing the same picks across entries amongst different players and coordinating wagers across different players. All players must make his or her own final selection independently of every other player in the contest. If Santa Anita or Breeders’ Cup determines, in their sole discretion, that collusion occurred, the participating player(s) will be disqualified.\"

Defining \"independently\" when people are sitting at the same table talking through races and potentially looking at the output from the same software seems like a slippery slope to me.  I wonder if they have some evidence of prize splitting.  And, like you, I don\'t know what kind of collusion would confer an advantage in a contest that covers lots of races and is based on $2 WP bets.  The \"final table\" might be different, but I don\'t think that was involved here.

My entire day was built around this horse. I also saw the the TG Analysis like this horse. Was anyone else surprised when Saez decided to press the pace?
Is this horse a playback based on that ride. I would apprecaite any feed back from the experts on this site.
