Ctc,
They did run one week at Keeneland last fall with a chip in Horse saddle pad this past fall with a GPS type system. I even believe England is making it madatory at some tracks (again saddle pad). SO the technology is close and would certainly help in calulating ground loss. My friend was a chart caller at Phil Park and Garden State in the early 80\'s so I know how unprecise a science it can be. .....speaking of him brought back memories of old Philly Park. In the dead of winter at Philly Park, it would more depend on how the track super harrowed the track in the am would determine if horses from the inside or outside would win........and you\'d have to adjust your bets accordingly. Not to mention a move up trainer named Mark Reid, who is the Buyer/Trader for Frankel today (Madaglio Doro,Peace Rules,BOS,High Limit and a few others for Dutrow St Liam for instance) He does have a Good EYE for Horse Flesh.................
