SUN KING
« on: May 25, 2005, 12:24:35 PM »
Looks like someone finally came out of that \"key\" race that SUN KING won down at Tampa Downs in March.

GLOBAL TRADER won a 1 1/16th turf race at Calder on Saturday. This should be enough for Zito to reconsider and enter SUN KING in the Belmont....LOL...LOL...LOL...

Good Luck,
Joe B.

Sun King is doing his best to tell his connections he wants a break and wants to cut back on distance. But he\'s run well at Belmont in the past and if Giacomo can win a Derby and Commendable can win a Belmont why shouldn\'t Nicky send Sun King? He was only beaten a length by the Derby winner in the Preakness! The only reason he passed High Limit though was because the Frankel steed was wasted from the pace. High Limit ran a much better race than Sun King and is a better horse.

Alex has run well at Belmont and so has Galloping Grocer. Though the latter is in need of freshening even worse than Sun King.

He shouldn\'t go with SUN KING because he is a one turn stakes horse and a 2 turn allowance horse.

SOME USELESS BELMONT STAKES INFO:

* 6 of the last 7 winners ran in the Derby.
I would not entertain thoughts of using any of the new faces this year anyway.

* 6 of the last 7 winners all had 3-4 races prior to the Belmont. Could AFLEET ALEX have run one too many???

* Belmont winners who had 2 preps before flopping in the Derby....POINT GIVEN, COMMENDABLE, LEMON DROP KID.

Good Luck,
