6th Race Thurs = 25.78 / 51.03/  1:14.20/   1:36.83 ?!

Not sure about those fractions, but the pace looked slow. The top two were 1/2 all the way around the track and the 4th horse was 3rd through most of the race. It looked to me like Sharp Needle ran a terrific race.

could be an error, but the winner sprinted the last 4f in :45.8, which is possible considering she only jogged for the first half mile. what i can\'t believe is that the other jocks let velazquez get away with that. they all saw the same scenario coming in the 8th, and they got a bit smarter (and stuffed JR all the way around the track).

I don\'t know what the hell they were thinking in the 6th. There wasn\'t a lot of speed in the race, but there was enough to keep it semi-honest.  There\'s probably only 2-3 jockeys in NY that read the DRF before the race and try to formulate a strategy. Where\'s Cordero when you need him.

you got cordero\'s protege (near clone), and he paid $7.80. the protege cost me a lot of money in the 8th though.

CV actually looked better than LR on TG, but i didn\'t think she would get the trip from post 9. give edgar a lot of credit for that ride.

I know you liked Johnny V in that sixth race, but 5-2 was a pretty awful price for that horse, in my book. Tough to figure he would get away with 51 to the half.  He had exactly one figure on T-Graph that could win in that race, which made him a pretty short underlay at 5-2.

Edgar\'s ride was nice in the 8th, but not unusually so.  He was wide on the turn.  The horse was just very good.  He was coming off a \"4\", but he only had about 3 weeks rest, off the top.

the price was low, too low to make a big bet, but - PoT\'s \"3.25\" came over a rock hard kee turf course. he hit the 1m mark in very quick time that day while running right on a decent pace. his next two were over soft courses he couldn\'t handle. i handicapped a return to the \"3-4\" lvl today (pace adjusted), making him the best. after this relatively easy win, PoT will probably be an underlay next out.

Good call Michael.  I see the logic and obviously you were right.  It is the \"reward\" part that I think sucked.  You threw out his most recent races, both of which were sub par and you expected him to run the only race he has ever run that was fast enough to be competitive here.  On top of that, you didn\'t expect any of the other horses that had run fast, to run faster.

For that, you got 5-2.  

But I got nothing, so 5-2 is better than nothing......
