BC TURF
« on: October 13, 2005, 10:27:23 AM »
With less than a week to go before the BC pre-entries, the fields are starting to come into focus. I think it speaks volumes about what some of our trainers think of the Euro turf invasion when KINGS DRAMA is going to the Canadian Int\'l and there is the possibility that FORTY NINER\'S SON may follow.

I do not recall AD VALOREM\'s trip in the Shadwell. We can be sure the masses are unaware of the anti-rail turf bias at Keenland. I do know that AD VALOREM is likely for THE MILE. Anyone remember his trip. TGJB???

Good Luck,
Joe B.

All i know is he was 3-1 and he trailed most of the way, then swung into the lane 7-8 wide and was finishing.Got beat 6 lengths.

I had him for the pick NTRA pick 4. he never got much of a call. Here is the chartcallers comments:

Exchanged bumps with the winner entering the first turn, raced within easy striking distance, was between foes 5 wide entering the final furlong and failed to fire.

Ad Valorem was last most of the way, but was off the rail back there, and never got involved.  The horses to look for coming out of here seem to be Cool Conductor & Frankel\'s filly, Alinghi.  They were both on the rail the entire way, and laboring noticibly in the stretch.  Prado got the filly out of there passing the 1/8 pole, but she was spent by then.

Thanks to all who responded. Sounds like there is nothing special with this regarding AD VALOREM....ALINGHI appears headed to the Matriarch and I don\'t think COOL CONDUCTOR is a BC caliber miler.

Good Luck,

Yeah, I think you\'re right.  Maybe Cool Conductor\'s worth a flyer at a big price if he goes, but Alinghi is odds-on if she shows up anywhere but Belmont Park on Oct. 29.

According to Racing Post this morning, Powerscourt will not be entered in the Turf.  O\'Brien/Coolmore are pre-entering 5, and he\'s not one of them...

Just to clarify that, Coolmore is pre-entering 5 for the day;  their entry for the Turf will be Ace.

With King\'s Drama needing a supplemental and being a Frankel horse, it is not too surprising they are passing to go for an easier spot.  Relaxed Gesture is also passing for the CI.  I thought those two were the US best chances.
