As of Tuesday, according to 2 correspondents writing in my favorite Comic Book, the NY POST (Kerrison and Fountaine), the grass was WET and soft on Tuesday. Sorry I can\'t attch the article, but Graham Motion is quoted as saying he thinks the Turf will be \"heavy\" for Saturday. Jimmy Toner said that there was plenty of give in the course Monday, before an additional inch of rain fell. How much can it dry between now and then, even with the sun out and a gusty wind?
This was the second wettest month in NY since 1882. The course has never been subjected to this much precipitation.
For them to have taken the Knickerbocker off turf Friday don\'t you think the course is in a bad way? Would 1 race have made that much of a difference on a course that had dried out decently?
HP, I think this course will be on the yielding side of \"GooD\", if not yielding. I think it will definitely favor animals who like \"give in the ground\". What\'s your take?
