Horse "match-ups" wagering up until post time?
« on: January 16, 2006, 07:23:35 PM »
My wagering house offers horse \"match-ups\"
whereby you can bet one entry in a race vs. another.
My friend is an uncanny expert at looking at horses in
the pre-race paddock and post parade and grading
how they look. So, before the Gulfstream meet, we
were excited at the prospect of teaming up to exploit
our handicapping skills to play these match-ups.
He\'s at the track every morning and afternoon.

However, to our great disappointment, the wagering
house ENDS THE BETTING for these horse \"match-ups\"
about AN HOUR BEFORE the race actually goes off!
Thus, we\'re screwed. We can\'t exploit my friend\'s
talent at looking at the horses prior to the race.
Bummer.

Does anyone know of a wagering venue that allows
horse \"match-ups\" wagering up until the time they
spring the gate?

Dang, you mean you\'ll just have to bet the actual race with that uncanny mojo like the rest of us?  Guess you could \'lay\' the can\'t wins at betfair if you could get an account.

Wonder why they cut off at 1 hour. Don\'t want players to see the betting odds??

 What venue is this anyhow?

We sell at the main racing form stand inside the main clubhouse entrance on race days.
