Changing Track Speeds

A while back someone posted some comments regarding how some California track (I think it might have been Hollywood) changed speeds during one particular day. I think the comments came from someone involved with track maintenance. Was \'Bruno\' the name? I didn\'t make a copy of the original post. Could someone please repost it. Or point me to the original post in the archives. This time I will copy it. I thought it was very interesting.

All I saw on the Del Mar site was their chat room exchange with Steve Wood. Is that the one you\'re referring to? I scanned through that one but didn\'t see anything particularly enlightening. Did I miss something?

It\'s not an in-depth discussion, but he does confirm that the chute gtes different maintenance than the rest of the track (sprint/route variability), that tides, shade, sun and wind affect moisture content, and that different parts of tracks are watered differently (because of shade). He also says tracks should be 10% moisture at all times but it is very hard to keep it that way because of \"the wind the sun and the elements\".
