Another ill conceived bet.I can\'t imagine this bet will go over big. With that format, what can you win??

Stronach has started a p/4 in MD.,where you can purchase 25 cent tix in increments of 1 dollar. That would be 4 tix of the bettors choice. It will be huge for the under-informed and will add up as a plus for the serious gambler.
Eventually this will lead to a 25 cent p/6.
Very addictive...include all your coulda-woulda-shoulda and whoops, you just dropped 40 bucks on a gimmick you couldn\'t afford previuosly.

And \"they say\" N.Y. bettors are more sophisticated than anywhere else!
This sounds like something that would go over at a bingo hall.

David,

NY bettors are pretty sharp but track management here is out of the loop on the gambling aspect of the game. They keep trying to appeal to the smaller gamblers not realizing that about 15% of their customers bet 70% of the handle.

Miff,

I think they know that, and figure this will attract money otherwise never bet.

I can\'t see any huge payouts. Guess you could have up to 9 winning tickets??

Sounds like a pretty lame idea.

Ever watch a train wreck of a commercial on TV and say to yourself.............\" Somebody got paid a lot of money to come up with this ridiculous commercial.\"

Same thing here.

NC Tony,

Yes, you can have 9 winning combos. Just think, you pick three bombs and the last winner at say even money and you split with all the people who use three chalks that all finish third and have the last winner,Brilliant!!

If I understand the bet, I think it\'s 27 winning combos: 3x3x3x1.

The big payoff would come if you can knock everyone\'s single out of the money in one of the first three races.  I thought racetracks disfavored this sort of bet because it increases the payoff for drugging, sponging, etc. a single big favorite.

So...what\'s the best strategy? Bet the fav in the first three with the 3 longest shots with promising TGs in the last (1x1x1x3=3) ?

Best strategy is to bet the $3 bucks on Mega Millions lottery, you might win something.
