The photo posted on the calracing.com web site looks to me like the #6 is a nose ahead of the #2...perhaps the stewheads felt they couldn\'t clearly ID the two horses\' positions given the winner blocking the view, but I know what my decision would be based on the photo made available - not even close!

Where\'s the red beanbag?

Why was there no inquiry in this rac? The top three bounced off eachother a couple of times.

Cal stewards dangerous!! Last week a questionable takedown(3million pick six pool), an admittedly tough photo and two other incidents in this past week alone regarding foul claims.

Don\'t know if it\'s true but a Raggie buddy claims someone was taken down for the 3million pick six pool at SA.I heard no one had the horse taken down and there would have been another carryover.

It\'s very unsettling that the stewards can take away a lifetime score on a bad/questionable decision.I would like to see the NFL rule used where there must be indisputable evidence before a change in the order of finish is made.

Hi Mike, that all depends on what side of the disqualification your ticket puts you on. Just as maddening as losing a big bet because the stewards take your horse down unfairly is losing a big bet because your horse was fouled and the stewards were too gutless to take down the offender.

While every case is different and must be decided on its own merits, my experience in general is that, more often than not, the stewards in both NY and Cal. are too afraid to take down horses despite flagrant fouls.

This also parallels the stewards’ reluctance to hand down meaningful penalties to trainers whose horses test positive for banned drugs as well. They both stem from a lack of guts on the part of stewards who are more concerned with not offending their source of profits than with doing the right thing.

Spa, I was mainly responding to Mike\'s post regarding DQ\'s but I have since gone back and looked at the photo. The winner is in the way and there is no clear view of the 2 other horses noses. I replayed the video and freezed it when they hit the wire several times and while the picture was fuzzy it looked like a dead-heat but I couldn\'t be sure. I\'m really surprised they don\'t have a mirror image at a major track like SA. The reverse angle would settle this. I wonder if Trakus would be precise enough to decide this?

I can see how this could be very unsettling to anyone having a stake in this race. I\'m sorry it cost you. I\'ve never seen a more ambiguous finish result. The technology failed badly here.

Well there are 2 sides to the story. I had the 5 and 2 boxed, as well as those 2 on top in the super with the 1,4,6. When i go back it clearly looks like the 2 nipped them at the wire. Cut the price of the payoff in more than half.
