Jerry can correct me on this, but AGS was 3-4 wide on the turn. That\'s about 2-3 lengths, which at 8.5 furlongs is worth a little over 1 point.
However SS could be expected to improve another point or 2 in his next couple of starts after the lay-off - especially since Nafzger didn\'t have him fully cranked.
It\'s also possible that even if AGS had not gone wide and come at SS with a bit more gas in the tank, SS might have just refused to let him pass and run another point better. Of course that one is a lot more speculative than the first 2.
