Belmont saturday - nonstarter?
« on: May 29, 2007, 05:22:09 PM »
A horse I began the pik 4 with over the wkend was declared a non-starter due to the gate not opening properly...I was not given a refund on this ticket and it was the first race in the pik 4...anyone know why?  No one at Lone Star could immediately give me an answer, and I didn\'t wait around for anyone else to explain it with the huge crowd.  Any help is appreciated.

Not sure about Lone Star. At many tracks a scratch in the first leg of the pick 4 or pick 6 gets you the post time favorite instead of the scratched horse.

You get the post time favorite no matter which leg it is that your horse scratches...

I had the Lunar Rendevous too and got lucky.  The horse was replaced on my ticket by Brassy Boots the favorite after pools closed and I ended up hitting that pick 4 (and I did not have Brassy Boots on my ticket).  If you already had Brassy Boots, then you were given the pick 4 twice on Brassy Boots.  If you hit the rest of the legs, then you have a winner.  If you missed a leg, then your whole ticket is a loser.  There are no refunds.  If you look at the Belmont charts, it reflects that the winning combination includes tickets on Lunar Rendevous.
