Gomez did a phenominal job with Discreet Cat after the horse slipped/or bolted on the turn. Amazing composure. He really didn\'t even check - he just went on with it and the horse really never broke stride. Icewater in his veins.

Desormeaux is riding at the top of his game too. He saved at least five lengths going into the first turn. Having watched him for 15 years out West - when Kent D. gets dialed in - there\'s nobody better in the known world.

Corinthian will be worth a few bucks in the breeding shed after today huh?

1. Kent was brilliant.
2. Corinthian was the horse most likely to run well on pattern.
3. the water seeped to the base of the track during the day and the surface became more demanding.
