Can anyone help me out?

I know 0,2 seconds per length is the rule over a route.

Anyone got the same rule over sprints? (as exact as possible would be great)

Cheers for any serious answer,

Dave

Dave -

I was fiddling with the same question myself recently.  Here\'s a link to an old post from TGJB in which he says that TG uses 0.16 seconds per length and that the industry standard is to use the same time regardless of distance.

The number makes sense if you figure that a length is about 8 feet and that many thoroughbreds travel the final furlong of a race (660 feet) in a little over 13 seconds.  I suppose if you wanted a more accurate number, you could try using the actual closing fraction of a race.
