Thanks. Aside from our involvement in the horse, Alan gave out the tri in the analysis on a 3 horse box. He also took a cup of coffee from me head to head, Sir Whimsey/Ryan\'s For Real. I\'m gonna stiff him.

Congrats, Jerry.

They should hire Alan to do the analysis on ESPN. That would be better than that windbag Hank Goldberg who had the nerve to give out a 3 horse exacta box of Gottcha Gold (5-2) Grasshopper (7-5), and Sir Whimsey (7-2).

Good Luck,
Joe B.

The strange thing is I played the race based on weeks and weeks of ROTW\'s that I have downloaded. I feel like I knew every horse in the race from a prior race, company they kept, etc.

That being said, your comment on Student Council\'s race at SA prior to the Big Cap made me bet him today.

ROTW is the gift that keeps on giving.....

For a horse who hadn\'t run back to his top in a while, you guys were really that confident on Student Council???  I mean if he\'s not a thorograph horse..does he really event get any attention considering there were so many horses who had good form going into the race.  I didn\'t bet because of how tough the race looked but if I did, he would have been one of only two horses I would have thrown out.  I know to throw out the turf number but his 2 poly numbers were not that good this year when he was running 0\'s last year.  Can someone help me understand or is it just that Asmussens juice is better than Cerins.

Good point, APny. This is what\'s good, and no so good, about racing and handicapping today.

We all love Jerry and hope his horses run well and win. But when I projected a figure for Student Council, I wrote beside his Racing Form past performances next to his name: \"Recent return to Asmussen! Injected today!? To Bridgemohan! Back to top!? New top here!? -0? -1? -2?\" [Those who thought similarly, killed the race when SC won at a great 7-1.] Sorry, but that\'s how we all must handicap in today\'s environment. Assuming Gotcha Gold ran the 0 again, Student Council ran a really big race. What provoked this? Student Council\'s natural development, at age 6? Or was the performance provoked by some kind of (legal) energizing injection from his new barn? Last year at this time, Asmussen\'s Curlin was rolling along with a nice straight line at an already preposterous level: 0... 0... 0... 0... into the Preakness. Then, WHAM!, at Pimlico: Curlin exploded to a -3 on short rest. Anyone who\'s seen major or minor move-ups and explosions from Team Asmussen over the past 6 months, must form their own opinion about whether these are provoked by natural development.

I wonder if now will be a good time to let him roll around in the grass-interesting article about rescuing racehorses in the Times today-
