As Jerry said, there are some guys who aren\'t winning as much, and steroids are overrated as a factor. It\'s not the cure to the problem, but things are a little better.

Maker is the best.

The guys in there every day at 4, he leaves after all the help.   He follows through on everything himself and hes very hands on with all the horses.   To think there is anyone who does it better than Maker in Kentucky would be foolish.   He may not have the best horses, but he gets the most out of all his horses.   Hes also a very honest guy which is hard to find in this business.   Mr Ramsey is very lucky to have a guy like Mike, and Mike is very lucky to have an owner like Mr Ramsey.  Their goals in racing mirror and its proven to be more than any of the other owners or trainers in Kentucky can handle.

This coming directly from the Ramsey website:

The couple currently has 65 horses in training with Bobby Frankel, Mike Maker, Mark Shuman, Ronny Werner, Charlton Baker, Richard Schosberg, Wesley Ward and Tom Voss. They ended their five-year association with trainer Dale Romans in late 2006.

I guess we wouldn\'t consider any of those fine Gentlemen move up trainers that Mr ramsey, that fine Soutnern Getlemen, employs.
