Film with Mickey Rourke, Marisa Tomei (don\'t miss it, for her \'scenes\' alone).

 Pretty good flick, but I\'m still waiting for something like that  about a Jockey. Will we ever see such a thing?

\"Man on Wire\", a documentary chronicling Frenchman Philippe Petit\'s tightrope
walk between the twin towers of the World Trade Center in 1974.

Actually I saw both \"The Wrestler\" and \"Man on Wire\" at Sunshine Landmark on
Houston Street, right next to the famous Yonah Schimmel\'s Knishes, which will
probably survive the Recession and celebrate 100 years in the same location
next year. The red cabbage knishes are \"the Bomb\".

Your point about Staten Island is quite accurate. \"Brokeback Mountain\" never
made it to the big screens on Staten Island. While Staten Island has become
slightly more diverse, most young SI kids think \"The Godfather\" and \"Goodfellas\"
are documentaries.

I\'m slightly partial to documentaries and NYC themed films, but \"Man on Wire\",
which is available on DVD (and probably Netflix) is an exceptional piece of
filmmaking and, unless I have missed something, 3/5 to get an Oscar for
Best Documentary if it meets all of \"Oscar\'s\" arcane eligibility requirements.

Whadya mean they aint documentaries? I have an uncle Vinne who can tell you the true analogy of each incident. In fact when I was in Little League, Joey Puzo (son of MArio) was on our team in Brightwaters LI. We have some insight on most of that movie. What was really interesting is that Old Man MArio was so afraid to be in public he built both an underground swimming pool and tennis courts in his Brightwaters home.
