On only 5 of out of 415 occasions, Akiko Gothard started a horse on 10 or less days rest. She won 3 of the 5. Isn\'t this something worth knowing about one of her horses which has competitive nos., whether you\'re thinking of betting on or against a horse she enters on short rest? To my way of thinking, the small size of the sample is itself worth noting, assuming that the trainer is otherwise competent.
Oh yeah, Congaree. I stayed at the OTB an extra 20 mins just to see him run, & he sure didn\'t look to me like he bounced. Baffert says he\'s developed into a big massive horse, totally different physically than he used to be, & he certainly looked the part in the post parade and warm-up. At this point, Congaree vs M\'Doro looks be one of the more interesting match ups in some time.
