My guess for the ROTW is......
« on: April 03, 2009, 06:18:05 AM »
....The Ashland

Stardom Bound seems crazy vulnerable at what will likely be odds on and my bet is that\'s where TG lands for ROTW.

Let\'s see if I can at least get that right this weekend.  If not, maybe I should play it easier when the races actually start.

Is picking the ROTW a leading indicator for picking any of the right horses over the weekend?

I don\'t know about ROTW, however, SB is a major, major bet against.

.... there is a great bet in this race, very obvious from the sheets, sire and trainer pattern.

Dream Empress is the second choice on the ML and that one doesn\'t seem to have much of a chance either.

I like Gozzip Girl alot better than Be Fair in this one.

Be Fair is fast and has a nice looking pattern but she is a half to Macho Again who is terrific on the dirt but I wouldn\'t bet him in a 25k claimer on the synthetic or turf and I can\'t play this one with too much confidence because of that.

Macho again is by Macho uno, Be fair is by exchange rate, there is a load of difference there IMO, especially on a synth track.

none of the offspring of the dam have run well on turf and I don\'t think exchange rate is so much of a synthetic sire that he can trump the bottom side\'s inability to turf.

I will take the dynaformer out of the kingmanbo mare (Gozzip Girl) that is a point or two slower on the sheets but with a nice pattern over what I view as a fast horse with a good pattern but a suspect pedigree to run on the syntheic with Be Fair.

ROTW will be the Carter, Ashland is too complicated. Agree on taking a shot at SB, but I think you have to spread out. Beating her and cashing are two different things.

hah, thanks JB.

Don\'t I know that beating the chalk and cashing are two different things.

I am still waiting for Denis of Cork to pass Da\'Tara in the stretch at the Belmont.

sorry, I will never get over it.  I was sitting right at the top of the stretch and swore that DoC was going to go right by DaTara.  I would have cashed for 6 figures if DoC won and then I didn\'t even get decent payouts on DoC to place and show even with the 1/5 shot finishing out of the money.  Tough game but....tomorrow is another day!

Good read. That horse lost a lot of ground, more than it should have.

Thanks, I listened to Jerry\'s advice and keyed the horse instead of singling which worked alot better given the bomber on top.
