Puzzling- then what do you make of Dettori staying to ride in the UK? Godolphin has him in Group 1 races on Saturday and Sunday, purses are 400,000 UK for the top two races. But if they thought he (Desert Party) had a real shot, wouldn\'t Dettori come for the Derby? Alternatively, if the Sheik is coming, does that imply high confidence in RR?

General Quarters got pounded yesterday because all the locals come to the track on Fri to place their Derby bets. McCarthy is the talk of the town and people bet this story - not the horse. I think Leparoux\'s success at Keeneland also plays well with the local folks so its no surprise. I expect him to drift way up today back to around 16-1 or higher. That said - he does have some tactical speed, shouldn\'t be too far off and might love the slop. Might get a small check

He has two other positives: 1. Mullins isn\'t his trainer (maybe that should count twice) 2. grade 1 winner
