You Can't Win On Synthetics
« on: May 26, 2009, 05:26:29 PM »
A while back I had a back and forth with Dana about using TG to bet on synthetics, and I mentioned one guy who was killing California using our stuff. Well, yesterday that guy-- who accasionally posts here-- hit the pick 6 at Hol, around 300k. If the horse that was 3 in front mid stretch had held on, he would have had the only ticket.

Great score!!! I ended up hitting 5-6 and singled Elysium Fields. Just to see Tres Borrachos wire the field. Found it very tough to use him though... His last 2 races he was dropping in class and showed nothing. Then he pops!!!

Jerry, if you remember, I was specifically referring to Santa Anita\'s pro-ride surface; Hollywood\'s cushion is much more formful, and I always said that. If you\'re going to quote me, please do it accurately. Lord knows, I\'m wrong plenty of times for you to point to, but I never said that.

Interestingly, (based mostly on your comments about this year\'s triple crown races) I have switched back to Thorographs 100 % now (for about 2 weeks), and the first day without RAGS, I hit a pick six at Holloywood with an $80.00 ticket. No, it didn\'t pay 300K, but that pick six your friend hit in particular was freaky in that in almost every race, it was the horse I gave the lowest number to (using the t-g\'s). I would have had to spend too much to play a serious ticket though b/c in the first two legs, I hated the favorites that won, but Tres Borachos and Thorn Song had the lowest numbers by far and they were the two biggest longshots.
