Before seeing the pp\'s or TG, I really like Atomic Rain....visually impressive in his last race....much the best...they were pointing to this before the sale...and the new owners are running him, rather than putting him away for the Dubai season.  If somebody runs with RA early, AR could get the jump on SB. AR might be the 4th choice and should offer value on top and bottom. Opinions?

I think this is the key.  On that speed favoring track if Rachel gets an easy or average pace, it\'s over..Can\'t say until the PPs come out though.

Jerry Izenberg\'s article on the history of the modern Haskell in today\'s Newark Star Ledger, specifically, how the 1987 Haskell put Monmouth Park back in the national spotlight is absolutely brilliant.  

Izenberg is truly a national treasure, he can paint a picture with words like no other sports journalist.  


The article gave me chills.

That was a good year and race.

I am not so sure however that the year before didn\'t set the table a little for the bigger things to come. Forty Niner and Seeking the Gold threw down in the stretch with the Niner winning by a dirty nose.

These were not exactly chicken feed connections. Woody Stephens and Claiborne Farm vs. Shug and The Phipps empire. With riders Laffit Pincay and Pat Day.

Jocks will follow a good purse anywhere. Champagne sipping owners like that only go where racing was meant to be...........

After reading the attached I began to wonder about Anthony Margotta Jr (jog your memory...I am about to give a pop-quiz...lolol), who got started on the Jersey circuit before moving to NY.  He was once on the fast track to be a major player before a slew of suspensions caught up with him - he was the pretty-boy version of Tricky.  Anyone knows if he is working under anyone of note or is he out of the game completely?
