Opening Day RAIN

Local news just said that tomorrow around 2pm the rain will begin with a good chance that it is going to be heavy throughout. Again, take it for what it is worth, but the colors on the radar in the area tomorrow were Red and Green. Not good.

There was an article in the local paper about how the first three weeks of last year\'s meet was a washout-I hope it\'s better this year-the month of July so far has been pretty wet-The Gov. is applying for Federal aid for the states farmers-But lately the rain has been scattered thunderstorms-wild but short lived-maybe we will catch a break! I am so looking forward to opening weekend!

Girly:

Would it be too much trouble for you, being a resident of the Capital Region,
to post weather updates throughout the Saratoga race meet for those of us who
will be forced to play most of the meet remotely (in my case from Living Room
Springs, Bellatoga and the NYCOTB Branch on 48th St between 5th and 6th Aves)?

Every four hours or so for the next 5 weeks should suffice.

Some positive musical reinforcement-- repeated playings of Blind Melon\'s \"No
Rain\" and Vince Guaraldi\'s \"Rain, Rain Go Away\" and avoiding songs such as
Clapton\'s \"Let It Rain\", The Temptations \"How I Wish It Would Rain\" and Jimi
Hendrix\' \"Rainy Day Wish\" (Rainy Day/Dream Away/Let the Sun Take a Holiday).

-The weird thing around here is a storm could rip up one area and not even hit the next town over. Let\'s hope it just flies by. Wish I were going today, but I am  working for the weekend-One day last year, I smelled it coming and left before the 9th race. Hid out at the Casino and then drove through streets littered with tree branches all the way home. It was wicked. Sounds like a Clubhouse day! Nothing like breakfast at the Track!

Maybe Gen Patton had the right idea when he had clergy craft a prayer requesting and even demanding good weather  - it seemed to work for him imo but would need to be updated to cover turf racing . . .

Good opening day crowd, and the real deluge held off until evening-all the races run- all in all, a good opening day! Looking forward to meeting some of you on Sat.

In another scene, a reporter asked GSP \"Is it true that you read the Bible?\"

To which GSP replied \"Every god damned day.\"
