On a glorious day of weather, we got to watch many \"slow rats\" stagger down the stretch to purses greater than they had ever dreamed of.  A few horses actually looked pretty classy and put in nice runs.  The casino (slots) dominates the landscape but the clubhouse and grounds are actually quite nice, despite the lack of any fresh air in the clubhouse.  Saratoga it ain\'t, but what is?
Alan\'s analysis could have led you to a winning day with a 8.30 winner, 30 exacta in the third and a 325 P3 (3.60, 10.20 and 10.60) in the final 3. Thanks Alan.  Covello\'s R J Brigade did not try to wire the field of deep closers which was a bit surprising but the winner, Soldier\'s Dancer, looked very good. All in all a fun day.  Now waiting on the Breeder\'s Cup.

I got roped into betting RJ\'s Brigade because of the lone speed thing but the horse was totally empty.  The horse was just totally outclassed.  The west point crew went all in once again at the windows and came out empty handed.  They really like to bet their horses.

RJ was totally outclassed.  Disappointing because he fit on the sheets if he would have been able to run back to his 3.5s with the weight break.

Interestingly though, I don\'t think it was the WPT crew that pounded him.  I had intended to bet him but couldn\'t at the short odds and it\'s actually a very small partnership and only 1 other partner was there.

I think alot of folks (myself included) were hoping the long speed angle would be the way to go.
