I did a little web searching today and found all five of Sea the Stars\' Group 1 victories this year. If he goes Sunday in the Arc, the reports are that he will most likely pass on the BC Classic.

And I\'ve seen similar in the Racing Post and the Guardian. The BC is a fall back in case Longchamp comes up soft. They haven\'t dismissed the BC if he goes Sunday, but it sounds like they are inclined to just run one more time.

I lost alot of money in Breeders Cup betting on the Arc winners (in the Turf of course in previous years) so I can\'t say I will be sorry if he doesn\'t come over b/c Murphy\'s Law says I would probably play against him and this is the one time the Arc winner would win at the BC.

There is the extra week this year between the Arc and the BC I believe so that should give whoever comes over from the Arc a better chance at Santa Anita regardless of which race they go in but its still alot to ask for a horse to be primed for a big effort in the Arc and then do it again a few weeks later.

Alot of times in the BC, the Euros you don\'t expect are the ones that win (i.e. Conduit) b/c their form isn\'t as good b/c they didn\'t leave their big effort behind in Europe.

Agree. Arc also-rans have done OK. Has an Arc winner ever won at the BC? I don\'t think so, and this is probably why StS is running in one or the other but (probably) not both.

A\'s are rebuilding, Raiders are..well the Raiders, and the Warriors are already acting foolish and the season hasn\'t even started yet. At least the Sharks will be fine.

Any American racing junkies attending the races at Longchamp? I had business in Paris and Spain this week, and I am staying through the weekend to catch some live Euro racing. It will be my first time. My business colleague is not interested in racing and is flying back home today, so I am here by myself. (He said I couldn\'t come to Paris and not \"see the Mona Lisa\". I said I couldn\'t come to Paris and not \"Sea the Stars\".)

On Saturday, I would really like to catch the Eurostar to see racing at Newmarket, but it might be too much to do in one day. My room in Paris is already paid through Sunday...

You could do it in one day but it would be a looooong day. The Saturday card at Longchamp is pretty good too (Goldikova is running). Take it easy on yourself. Newmarket has been there for a few centuries. It\'s not going anywhere. Enjoy!

An Arc winner has never won the BC Turf. Great horses such Montjeu and his son Hurricane Run have failed.
14 European based horses have won the turf six of whom prepped at the Arc.

Yes, that is the logical answer... but I may never get another chance and I surely won\'t be around for another hundred years. Regardless, with my world-traveling associate gone, I feel less adventurous. I went out today and figured out the metro, took it to see the Arc (monument not race), and walked down the Champs Elysees (the street not the horse!).
I did find a \"Paris Turf\" newspaper at a local street vendor, but it is hard to read, since I do not speak French. I hope they have an English version at the track for all the Brits that make the journey. I also have not seen any Bris or DRF PP\'s. I find it hard to survive on TG alone. Since Twinspires is accepting wagers on just the Arc from Longchamp, I suppose they will at least put up PP\'s for the one race...

At the course\'s main entrance, tunnel entrance, owners\' entrance and Sursenes entrance, as well as near Tour 7 behind the grandstand.

Many a year since I\'ve been to the Arc but it\'s a great day out - though don\'t expect too much help from the pari-mutuel clerks. If it\'s still there (not sure that it is) try the outdoor cafe 100 yds or so past the main entrance towards the stables before racing. Not elegant but used to be a favourite haunt of the Brits and good food at a good price. Good luck.
