Jerry, I’m guessing they did some kind of comparison study including TG vs. some of the other major speed figures in deciding to go with your numbers. I’d love to see the results of such a study but I strongly suspect it wont be made public to avoid all the flack they’re sure to attract from the ones who did poorly.
In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t get hit with old saw that “speed figures can’t measure class” or that class can’t be quantified”, from the anti speed figure guys. Should be interesting to hear. I’m also sure that many will miss the part that explains that the figures are just a part of the mix, though a very important one. Just like it works in everyday handicapping.
