From NY Times:
\"The aggressive punishment of Mullins in New York comes at a time when horse racing is under intense scrutiny for its use of illegal drugs, overuse of legal medications and lax oversight, all of which many veterinarians believe are part of the reason the United States has the world’s worst mortality rate for thoroughbreds.\"
Isn\'t that what some of us have been saying for, oh, I don\'t know, 10 years!? Last week, Sighthound is busting my chops telling me as a veterinarian something or other, he sees no connection between drugs and breakdowns, yeah right.
Anyway, some \"aggressive punishment\"! Ban him from a track he doesn\'t race at except for 1 or 2 races a year. Those penalties are brutal, huh?
Great racing at Oak Tree by the way. Yesterday, there were 60 horses entered on the entire card! Sink your teeth into those handicapping challenges.
