The greatest horse name ever?
« on: December 18, 2009, 09:25:17 AM »
David Lanzman who we all remember sold an interest in I Want Revenge to IEAH (thw two parties are now in all kinds of litigation) has a homebred half brother to IWR in at Hollywood tomorrow making his debut.

The name of the horse Don\'t Sell Me To Felons

Actually I am a little turned off by it and am surprised the Jockey Club would allow it. There are two sides to every story and IWR\'s trainer Jeff Mullins who Lanzman selected was accused of doping the horse before the Gotham before IEAH had even stepped in.

Racing doesnt need names like \"My Sleezy ExWife\". Leave these kinds of trashy slogans to Pro Wrestling.

Sorry to say this but lets hope this horse is not a runner.......

Silver,

All fair points.  It just made me laugh and I always take that to be a good thing but you are right that there is another side to the story and that it is suppossed to be the sport of kings after all.

On that score, remind me not to tell you the two names I just submitted to the Jockey Club for the two yearlings I bought at the Keenland September sale :)

Way back when I was at Ragozin\'s there was a ridgling on the Maryland circuit called One To Come.

I once had a filly by Sensitive Prince out of Rushing Stream, named her Princessandthepea. I figured if I spelled pea the other way they wouldn\'t let it go, they okayed it, and she won a small stake at Meadowlands under that name.

Alfred Vanderbilt was supposed to be the champ, somebody must know some of his.

I never understood how Mike Pegram got Isitingood past the Jockey Club.  Even Jim McKay showed disgust at this name on an ABC telecast one time.

Wasn\'t he the guy who had Bodacious Tatas? (that is not a reference to a manziere ala Seinfeld -- it is a filly he used to own).  She won some stakes races I believe.  He had other good ones.  Then they brought in a special consultant to review names because nobody at the jockey club knew slang.
